We are excited to reopen our doors and feature FEED's first Gift Shop Artist-in-Residence, Aaron Homerski. Aaron will be in residence throughout the run of the Eclipsing Stars exhibition, featuring his crocheted Goddess Masks, a collaboration with the show's artist, Alex "lonesav" Staley. In addition to Aaron's goddesses, he will be selling his diverse collection of wearable items, Loner plushies (another "lonsav" collaboration!) and drawings, as well as FEED swag. Please stop by to meet Aaron, watch him create new works, ask questions, and maybe learn to crochet! Stay tuned for one-day guest artist pop-ups.
"When approached with the designs of the Eclipsing Stars goddesses, I wanted to recreate them as accurately as I could while still making them accessible and wearable. With most of my wearable crochet work I try to create a standard of using natural fibers, so this collection was made with 100% cotton yarn, only using synthetic fibers when absolutely necessary. Some of the 3D aspects of the masks like the horns or spikes are filled with poly-fill, while the eyes are made to maintain shape using amigurumi crochet techniques. The masks are machine wash and dry safe, which allows for the ease of cleaning them like an everyday garment, while still transforming the wearer into a powerful goddess." --Aaron Homerski
